Sometimes governments lack the internal
resources to do the job and look to their domestic industries
to assist in case preparation. We have considerable experience
in acting as industry-government liaison. We gather the facts
and formulate the industry's legal position. We present a
documented complaint or defence to government officials and then provide support
to the officials when they present the case.
Companies and industries have direct access
to some trade remedies under national legislation. These include
anti-dumping, countervailing duty and safeguards cases. We
have acted as counsel to both domestic producers and affected
exporters in a number of such cases.
