In 1991, Mexico retained Mr. Thomas, Q.C., to assist in all aspects of the negotiation of the NAFTA. Since NAFTA's entry into force, Mr. Thomas, Q.C., and the other lawyers of Thomas & Partners have assisted Mexico in initiating and defending international disputes. As well, the firm is actively involved in setting forth Mexico's views on the proper interpretation of the NAFTA in claims against Canada and the United States.
