We advise and represent clients on Canadian customs regulation and on other trade-related matters including export and import controls and technical standards.
We have resolved a wide range of customs regulation issues for our clients including tariff classification, rules of origin, payment of duties, tariff-rate quotas and duty relief (e.g. duty drawback and deferral programs).
In the area of export and import controls, we have advised clients on the controls maintained by the Government of Canada on the export of military and dual-use goods, notably on information security products, and assisted them in preparing applications to obtain the required permits.
We have advised clients on how to comply with standards and regulations related to products such as medical devices, agriculture and food products and manufactured goods.
We assist our clients in other trade and investment-related areas such as compliance with the Canadian Foreign Extraterritorial Measures Act. We have advised clients in the financial services, retail and manufacturing sectors on the application of this legislation.
